Political Hooks

July 10, 1980

We have discovered that most of our recent politicians have hooks in their backs.  They are bait dangled before us.

To discuss the relative merits of programs proposed by these candidates accomplishes no more than for the fish to debate the nutritional value of worms vs. minnows, when both are suspended on hooks.  The fish which swallows the bait is controlled by the angler.  The voters who elect the bait are controlled by the insiders.

The fish should be less concerned with nutritional theory and more concerned about hooks.
