Sex & Procreation(2-10-04) The conclusions regarding homosexual activity are to be affirmed. It is important that we are clear on this, as it increasingly a cultural watershed.
At the same time, I am uncomfortable with the reasoning which implies that sexual intercourse which does not have as its purpose the procreation of children is for self gratification, therefore not for a natural purpose, therefore evidence of vile affections. This would imply that all intercourse after a hysterectomy or after menopause is wrong.
Individuals and couples who must or who jointly choose to live without intercourse can live wholesome and fulfilled lives. But I have not found what is to me convincing evidence that such practice should be required, or even recommended, for everyone unable to procreate children.
John
