Leaders or Managers

April 5, 1983

Managers use power and force,
issue orders,
build power structures,
encourage dependence,
engender envy and hatred,
compel obedience,
resent the threat of equals,
demand information,
come to position by force,
find their worth in their management,
are proud.

Leaders use truth and persuasion,
encourage independence,
engender respect and love,
attract followers,
rejoice in the presence of equals,
encourage privacy,
come to natural recognition,
find worth aside from their leadership,
are humble.
